Responsible Innovation in Vietnam

In the framework of the Dutch Organization of Scientific Research (NWO) research program Responsible Innovation (MVI), Tilburg University initiated a research program entitled "Understanding Responsible Innovation in Small Producers’ Clusters in Northern Vietnam: A grounded theory approach to globalization and poverty alleviation". 

The research addresses the potential of innovation for poverty reduction in Vietnam in the context of academic debates on poverty, sustainable development, informal small business and globalization. Central research question: How to understand responsible innovation within poor small producers’ clusters in Vietnam following the country’s integration into the global economy?

Research sub-questions:

1. Do small producers in Vietnamese clusters innovate as a way to improve their economic performance and competitiveness?
2. How to conceptualize responsible innovation in the context of small producers in Vietnam? 
3. What processes, conditions and systems contribute to responsible innovation and lead to more beneficial (socially and environmental) outcomes?
